Casey Plett's Little Fish wins Firecracker Award for Fiction
The award is presented by the Community of Literary Presses and Magazines (CLPM). In announcing the win, the jury proclaimed: “In Little Fish, Casey Plett brings us fully into the world of her characters and lets us feel the fateful inevitability of their choices. Plett’s protagonist, Wendy, is searching for a hidden trans lineage in her own family tree. This heroic quest is at once deeply private and an enormously helpful way to think about what it means for any of us to come of age and become heroes of our own lives.”
Also shortlisted for the Firecracker Award for Fiction was Joshua Whitehead's Jonny Appleseed, which also won a Lambda Literary Award.
